Condolences

Condolence From: Victor Ernst
Condolence: I would like to express my sincere condolences to the family of Bernice Veinotte on this day of commemoration. I had the good fortune to get to know Bernice while I was an assistant to her late husband C. Stewart Veinotte in the early 1980s. She was a genuinely nice lady and I will always treasure the memories that I have of Bernice and Stewart. Please accept my heartfelt condolences. Victor Ernst (Toronto).

Condolence From: Laura Anderson-Brick
Condolence: While growing up, Bernice was known to me as Grandma Veinotte. She was an exquisite woman. Not only was she beautiful, she was also very kind and loving. Nothing thrilled me more than a stranger commenting on how much I looked like my Grandmother. We would both just smile. My childhood memories of this fun and sometimes outrageous lady, hula dancing with her grass skirt and pink undies to the beautiful gowns and wonderful stories she and Grandpa told of their travels, will always be in my heart.

Years later, I saw her at the Hartford in Morrisburg. It was dinner time, and down the hall walked this beautiful woman who carried herself with such poise. I recognized her instantly, and was thrilled when she knew me. My brother and I performed at the Hartford one time after this. We had the pleasure of Grandmas company for a few short hours when she agreed to come back and visit with us at Michael's home.

I will always be greatful to my stepfather Reg, for the influence he had in my younger life and for bringing such a wonderful lady into my world.

Rest in peace Grandma!

Laura Anderson-Brick
