Obituary for Mildred Pauline Zinck

Mildred Pauline Zinck
It is with great sadness that the family of Mildred Pauline Zinck, 93, of East LaHave, announces her passing on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at home.

Born in Middle LaHave, she was the daughter of the late Ammon and Eva (Zinck) Lohnes.

Mildred started her working career at an early age at Creaser’s Clothing Factory in LaHave, where she met her husband Austin and they moved to East LaHave and continued to make clothing from her home. She and Austin managed the Oven’s Natural Park for 13 years and Zinck’s Trailer Park which she continued to operate and greet folks for nearly 40 years retiring in 2007.

Active within her church of Trinity United in Rose Bay, she taught sunday school for many years, a faithful member of the church choir and a life time member of the UCW.

Mildred was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother who took great joy in actively supporting her family in all of their endeavors. Her warm and generous nature will be missed by all.

Mildred is survived by her sons, Merrill (Nancy), East LaHave, Wayne of Lower Northfield, grandchildren, Adam (Natasha), Colin (Roxanne), Amie, Anthony (Joanne) and Tabatha and one great grandchild, Autumn and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Austin, daughter-in-law, Mary Ellen, sisters, Sadie Quinn and Gladys Daury, brother, Maxwell.

Friends are invited to share their memories of Mildred with her family during visitation on Friday, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg. Funeral service to celebrate Mildred’s life will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity United Church, Rose Bay, Rev. Ron Frampton, officiating. Interment will be in Harbour View Cemetery, Lower Rose Bay.

A special thank you to Mom’s various care givers over the past six years. In particular we would like to thank Belle Bungay and Joan Clayton who, through their wonderful and compassionate care and never ending patience, allowed Mom to maintain such a great quality of life.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Trinity United Church, the Alzheimer’s Society of NS or to a charity of your choice.
