Obituary for
Gloria Louise Tanner
It is with great sadness that the family of Gloria Louise Tanner, 89, of Bridgewater and formerly of Blue Rocks, announces her passing on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.
Born in Blue Rocks, she was a daughter of the late Otto and Hazel (Knickle) Knickle.
Gloria was a member of St. Paul’s United Church, Blue Rocks and faithfully supported her church. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, and cared deeply for her family and took a great interest in the community of Blue Rocks.
She is survived by her sons, Walter “Sonny” and his wife Lynne of Halifax, Reid, Dayspring, grandchildren, Christine, Stephen and Joseph, and several great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Sharon Tanner, Chester; sister-in-law, Doris Knickle, Kentville,
Besides her parents, Gloria was predeceased by her husband, Walter, sons, Roseville and Wade (Louise), sister, Ella Jean Fralick, brothers, Bernard and Capt. Haslem and two infant sisters.
Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg where visitation will be held Friday, November 13, 2015 from 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to celebrate Gloria’s life will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in St. Paul’s United Church, Blue Rocks, Gary Carey, officiating. Interment in the Upper Blue Rocks Cemetery, Blue Rocks.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Paul’s United Church, Upper Blue Rocks Cemetery or a charity of your choice.
