Weldon Robert Kenney passed away peacefully at home in Kentville on Tuesday, April 26th, 2016, at the age of 81 years.

Born in Lunenburg on December 25, 1934, he was the son of the late Russell and Beulah (Whynacht) Kenney.

Weldon is survived by his wife of 61 years, Elmore MB (Ringer); daughter, Deborah (Barry), Lewis; New Minas; son, Michael (Isabel Gallant), Kentville; granddaughter, Tara Lewis (Robert MacLeod), Rothesay, NB; grandsons,, Tyler Lewis (Katlyn Atwell), New Minas and Kristan Kenney, Kentville; great-grandsons,, Josh (the apple of Poppy’s eye) and Kieran; sister, Roselia (George) Sheaves, Dartmouth as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by brother, Gerald, grandson, Ryan Kenney and great-grand-daughter, Adrianna Kenney.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213, Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg where a memorial service to celebrate Weldon’s life will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be in Park Cemetery, Mahone Bay.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Weldon’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Diabetes Association or to any other charity.

The family would like to thank the VON in Kentville for their wonderful care and a special thanks to “His Boys”, Jason Wile, Merle Hudson and Mike Baltzer for their loving and compassionate care given to Weldon over the past number of years.
