Obituary for Rita Maude Skinner

Rita Maude  Skinner
It is with great sadness that the family of Rita Maude Skinner, 82, of Lunenburg, announces her sudden passing on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 with her loved ones by her side, at the Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg.

Born in Little Bay West, N.L., she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Bessie (Drake) Crant.

Rita was tremendously proud of her family and was always there to provide advice and never judged. She was a nanny to more than just her own grandchildren and all of whom miss her greatly. She was a faithful member of St. John's Anglican Church, Lunenburg.

Rita is survived by her daughter, Betty (Greg) Bush; Lunenburg, sons, Kevin; Bayport, Winston (Debbie); Blue Rocks, Boyd (Rose Croft); Dayspring, fourteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Besides her parents, Rita was predeceased by her husband, Eli, son, Ricky and great-great-grandchild Casey.

Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213, Hwy. # 3. Lunenburg and from where visitation will be held on Sunday, May 1, from 7-9 p.m. A memorial service to celebrate Rita’s life will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at St. John’s Anglican Church, Lunenburg, Rev. Alvin Westgate officiating, assisted by Rev. Reginald MacDonald. Interment in Sunny Valley Cemetery, Centre.

Flowers from the immediate family only, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or St. John’s Anglican Church, Lunenburg.
