Obituary for Ruby Louise Skinner

Ruby Louise Skinner
Ruby Louise Skinner (Mullins), 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones in the early hours of Friday, June 24th in her daughter’s home in Upper Tantallon. Even during her brief illness, Ruby maintained her pluck and good humour right to the end.

Born in Morrisville, N.L., on February 3, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Maude (MacDonald) Mullins. Ruby moved to Riverport with her husband George Skinner, where they raised two daughters, Patricia Elaine Mosher and Darlene Ruby Dibbin. After the passing of her husband in 1993 and too soon after her daughter, Darlene in 1998, Ruby spent her golden years in Bridgewater with her beloved little dog, Jenny Woo. As an avid card player and social butterfly, Ruby leaves behind a large circle of friends as well as her family.

Surviving are her daughter, Patricia and her husband Michael Mosher; Upper Tantallon, and their children, Rhiannon and her partner David, Winston and his partner Marta, Maris Lea and her partner Jeffrey; son-in law, John Dibbin and his partner Judy Koster; Darlene’s children, Melissa and her husband Jason Ryan and Joshua and Judy’s
Daughters, Aldine and her partner Sheldon and Ronalda and her partner Vernon as well as Ruby’s long time companion, Ross Parnell. It was Ruby’s great joy to meet her three great-grandchildren this year. Melissa’s son “our baby” Nolan as well as Aldine’s Hendrik and Ronalda’s Kai.

Friends are invited to share their memories of Ruby with her family during visitation on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Dana L.
