Obituary for
Russell Everett Murray Boehner
It is with great sadness that the family of Russell Everett Murray Boehner, 65, of Lunenburg, announces his passing on Monday, June 27, 2016 at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.
Born in Martin’s River, he was the son of the late Everett and Gloria (Bayers) Boehner.
Russell started his working career as a truck driver and then went on to work at National Sea Products, Lunenburg and Riverport Seafoods. In later years he worked as a truck driver and salesman for Ralph Hatt at M. A. Hatt and Son Sauerkraut Plant, Lilydale until his retirement.
Over the years, Russell was a member of St. John’s Anglican Church, Lunenburg, the Wildlife Association and a member and volunteer of the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, spending time at home with family and always willing to help a friend that needed a caring hand.
Russell is survived by his wife, the former Ella Leopold; step-daughters, Esther (Rodger) Pike, Farmville; Claudine Gerhardt (Kuno Kuenzle), Blockhouse; step-sons, Victor, Toronto, ON; Vance, Ottawa, ON, 3 step-grandchildren, Alyssa and Brittany Gerhardt, Matthew Pike, brothers, Roy (Kathy) Boehner, Back Centre and Mark (Judy) Boehner, Chester, several nieces and one nephew.
Russell was predeceased by his sister, Pam Faulkenham and brothers, James and Bruce.
Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral home, 11213, Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg. A memorial service to celebrate Russell’s life will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at St. John’s Anglican Church, Lunenburg, Archdeacon, Michael Mitchell officiating. Interment will be in the St. Martin’s Anglican Church Cemetery, Martin’s River.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. John’s Anglican Church or to the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
