Condolence: Ron, Tim, Ian and all our extended family out east: It shattered my heart to hear the news. At the same time I was overwhelmed with a few rich, warm memories of time spent with Bernadette and yourself. She was an impressive woman. One of a kind. She brightened the world she graced. I wish Isaac could have had more time with her.

Condolence: Dear Ron, it is with sadness that I learned of Bernadette's hospitalization and passing. It was meaningful to read about Bernadette and to have my memory refreshed at the richness of her life and talents. She was a special woman who touched the lives of many. You have been thought about so often when I pass your Hyson Pt Home. Take care of yourself at this time. Thoughts are with your and Bernadette's family. Sincerely, Margaret Bayer

Condolence: One of my favourite memories of time shared with Bernadette and Ron: Breaksfast at the Chester Golf Club; especially the time when we learned of Bernadette's connection to Tancook Island. Nancy went upstairs with Bernadette to look through the washroom window at the island. Ron lets make a date for breakfast real soon.

Condolence: Dear Ron: Florence and myself are truly sorry to learn of your loss. I will always have fond memories of our little chats down at the dock -- particularly when Bernadette would offer a thought along with her warm smile. I would hasten to add Ron, that your great love for Bernadette -- so evident with every step you took arm-in-arm with her, has always touched me. Take care Ron. Fred & Florence

Condolence: Ron, I can't begin to express how sorry I am for your loss. I have so many wonderful memories of times spent at your place in Halifax when we were in law school and then so many fun evenings with you and Bernadette in Lunenburg. Bernadette's gentle kindness and wisdom helped me through some rough times and her humour and love of beautiful things was a source of joy for me and all three of my children. I have a painting of Bernadette's framed in my living room and am frequently reminded of her humility and generosity. She thought it wasn't much at all but I knew it was amazing and felt so blessed when she gave it to me. I have always believed that your marriage was one of the very best I have known. The love and respect you had for each other made it so nice to be in your home. I know there will not be a minute of any day that you will not miss Bernadette but I hope you can find comfort in the countless happy memories you have. Love always, Andrea, Ben, Andy and Charlotte
