Obituary for Mona Alicia Annis

Mona Alicia  Annis
Annis, Mona Alicia, of Lunenburg, passed away on Wednesday, October 5th, 2016 at Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg.

Mona was the third daughter of the late Robert and Florence (Joudrey) Conrad. She was born in First South in 1944.

She is survived by her much loved children, daughter Bernadette Veinot and her husband Freddie; Garden Lots and son Frank Levy and his wife Valerie Corkum; Hammonds Plains. Just when she thought at the age of 69 she wasn’t going to be a nanny, Frank and Valerie adopted three beautiful children. She welcomed them with open arms, three siblings Brandi, Briana and Brayden. They made their family complete. Mona is also survived by her former husband, father of her children, Robert Levy; Middle LaHave. She also leaves to mourn sisters, Carolyn (Basil) Walsh; First South, Brenda (Earl) Bachman; Lunenburg; Nancy Conrad (John LeBlanc); Lower Rose Bay; brother –in- law Eric Himmelman; Centre, also companion Donald Hiltz and two nephews and six nieces.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by two infant brothers, husband Walter Annis and companion Phil Hanrahan.

Her family meant everything to her and she loved the outdoors and dancing. She enjoyed a good game of cards and belonged to a number of clubs; being president of the Golden Youth Club for six years. She did volunteer work for the Heart and Stroke Foundation as section leader for New Town Lunenburg for a number of years and was a former worker at the Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital gift shop. Mona was a member of Central United Church.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213, Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg where a memorial service to celebrate Mona’s life will be held Tuesday, October 11, at 2:00 pm. Interment will be in Heckman’s Island Cemetery, Heckman’s Island.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Mona’s memory to Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg; Heckman’s Island Cemetery, Central United Church, Lunenburg or SHAID Tree Animal Shelter would be appreciated.
