Obituary for Drew Ellis Wagner

Drew Ellis Wagner
It is with great sadness that the family of Drew Ellis Wagner, 31, of Back Centre, announces his sudden passing on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at the Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg.

Born in Lunenburg, he was the son of John and Mary (Hatt) Wagner of Back Centre.

Drew received his earlier education at Parkview Education Centre while working part-time at Bowater Mersey Mill in Oakhill and Knickle’s Ultramar Station. He then went on to take his Diesel Repair Industrial and Marine course from the Bridgewater Campus of NSCC. He applied his trade as a Millwright with Bridgewater Metal Industries (BMI), working for the past several years at Michelin Tire Plant in Bridgewater.

An avid outdoorsman, Drew enjoyed everything from fixing cars, four wheeling, motorcycling, snowmobiling, boating and fishing with friends. He was always willing to lend a helpful hand to those in need and he was never far from his four-legged friend, Marlin. He has left an incredible void in his family life and we are all richer to have known such a great guy.

Besides his parents, John and Mary Wagner, Drew is survived by his loving wife, Jaylynn (Spidle); his adored daughter, Lexi; sister, Krista Wagner (Terry O’Toole) of Lunenburg; father and mother-in-law, Rick and Susan Spidle, Feltzen South; aunts, Sonia Kaminsky, Edmonton, AB and Nancy Gallant, Back Centre; uncle, Carl (Susan) Hatt, Bridgewater, and several cousins.

He was predeceased by his grand parents Lester and Jean Hatt; Heber and Ruth Wagner and an aunt, Judith Greek.

Friends are invited to share their memories of Drew with his family during visitation on Wednesday, October 19 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg. A service to celebrate Drew’s life will be held Thursday, October 20 at 2:00 p.m. at St. John’s Anglican Church, Lunenburg, Archdeacon Michael Mitchell, officiating. A reception will follow at St. John's Parish Hall. Interment will be at 11am on Saturday, October 22 at Brookside Cemetery,Bridgewater.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to an Education Fund for Lexi Wagner or the SPCA Lunenburg County.
