It is with great sadness that the family of Robert Roderick Risser, 29 of First South, announces his passing on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.

Born in Lunenburg, he was the son of Robert and Vivian (Morris) Risser of First South.

Robert graduated from Parkview Education Centre and started his working career in earlier years delivering newspapers and then worked at Scotia Trawlers, Lunenburg while he attended NSCC to obtain his Construction and Industrial Electrical certificate. He then went on to take a trucking course in Debert, working up to recently with a number of various trucking companies.

His love of his life was his two children, Emily and Jacob and he cherished the time spent with them. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, playing hockey and a good game of poker.

Over the years Robert struggled with failing health but he always faced life with bravery and strength that gave inspiration to so many.

Besides his parents, Robert and Vivian Risser, he is survived by his 2 cherished children, Emily and Jacob; his adored sister, Shannon (Codie) Spindler, Bayport and their children, Dawson and Chloe, his special cousin and like a brother, Jordy Risser, maternal grandmother, Daisy Morris, First South; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Roderick and Laura Risser and his uncle, Reid Risser.

Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg, where a memorial service will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m., Archdeacon Michael Mitchell, officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the IWK-Grace Hospital or to the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.
