Obituary for Paul Alexander Arbuckle

Paul Alexander Arbuckle died December 2 at the home of his sister in Martin’s Brook surrounded by his family.

He is survived by his loving parents Charles and Eileen (MacDonald) Arbuckle, Mahone Bay, daughter Alex (Hazen Fry), Port Williams, son Stephen, Edmonton, sisters Kathryn and Heather (Jeff Hopkins), nieces Kristen and Lauren and nephew Ryan all of Lunenburg Co.

Paul grew up in Halifax and graduated from Dalhousie University (B.Comm) and Mount St. Vincent University (B.Ed). He was a sportsman and enjoyed curling, golf, sailing, hiking, skiing, lacrosse and running. He ran a marathon for his 25th and 50th birthdays. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed many walks with his dogs. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. He would fill a room with his funny, goofy ways, and his big, giant heart. He was generous with all that he had to give and he will be forever missed by those whose lives he touched.

By Paul’s request there will be no visitation or funeral. A private ceremony will be held at a later date at the family cottage in St. Margaret’s Bay.

His family wishes to send a special thank you to Debby Arbuckle; his Doctor John Jenkins; Kerry South of the Palliative Care Program, as well as VON and Home Support. Your support and kindness through the final part of his journey was a great comfort.

Donations in Paul’s memory can be made to The South Shore Health Palliative Care Program at Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital in Lunenburg.
