Obituary for Roger Gerald Henley

It is with great sadness that the family of Roger Gerald Henley, 85, of Mader’s Cove, announces his passing on Tuesday, December 13, 2016, at home.

Born in New Canada, he was a son of the late Wilfred and Melba (Lyon) Henley.

Born in New Canada, his family moved to Massachusetts in 1946 where he worked as a design engineer in the space program.

After retiring, he and his wife Beverly moved back in 1989 to Mader’s Cove where he spent his retirement restoring their beautiful home.

A quiet and gentle man, Roger enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and was most content when tending to his large acreage, fixing what needed to be fixed and lovingly and meticulously restoring historic properties.

Roger is survived by his wife, Beverly.

He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213, Hwy #3, Lunenburg. A private graveside committal service will be held later in the spring at Lakeside Cemetery, New Canada.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Roger’s memory may be made to SHAID Tree Animal Shelter.
