Obituary for Carvel Eugene Cluney

Carvel Eugene  Cluney
It is with great sadness that the family of Carvel Eugene Cluney, 79, of Second Peninsula, announces his passing on Friday, January 13, 2017 at home.

Born in Sherbrooke Village, he was the son of the late Sydney and Lita (Babineau) Cluney, and at an early age he moved to Second Peninsula and was raised by Evangeline and Clarence Rhodenhizer.

Carvel worked all of his working life at Michelin Tire, Bridgewater. After retirement he was able to spend many enjoyable hours doing what he always loved, such as tinkering on cars, hunting, fishing and enjoying the great outdoors and visiting his friends at the Veteran’s Unit of Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital.

Carvel is survived by his daughter, Karen (Robert) Wright, Maitland; son, Michael (Elizabeth) Cluney, Caledonia; brother, Ken (Linda) Cluney, Sackville, grandchildren, Nicole, Teena, Tracey, Katie, Jason, Joel and Ryan and several great-grandchildren.

Carvel was predeceased by his wife, Carolyn, daughter, Christina and several brothers and sisters.

Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213, Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg. A graveside committal will be held Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Second Peninsula Cemetery, Second Peninsula, Archdeacon, Michael Mitchell officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Veteran’s Unit of Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg.
