Obituary for Rhea Dena Spindler (Winters)

Rhea Dena Spindler (Winters)
It is with sadness the family of Rhea Dena Spindler, 94, of Lunenburg announces her passing on Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at Harbour View Haven Home for Special Care, Lunenburg.

Born in Bayport, she was a daughter of the late Solomon and Dena (Zinck) Winters. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She was a past member of Wesley United Church, Feltzen South.

Rhea was a kind, loving woman who took care of her home and family and always had a smile for everyone. When someone in her community was in need, she would always show up with a baked good of some kind or a special dish she had made. She baked many birthday cakes. Her chocolate cake seemed to be everyone’s favourite. In her earlier days dinner out with Douglas was a much enjoyed activity and together they spent several enjoyable vacations with their friends.

She is survived by her son, Rex Spindler, Riverport; sister-in-law, Shirley Wilneff, Northwest; nieces and nephews, Judy (Don) Brownrig, Winnipeg; Cheryl (Bruce) Cole, Fall River; Clyde Spindler, Ohio; Paulette Williams, Lunenburg; Nancy (Scott) Miller, Greenfield; David Wilneff, Halifax; Kathy (Mike) Mulle, Northwest and Charles (Joyce) Eagle, Upper Lahave.

Besides her parents, Rhea was predeceased by her husband Douglas, sisters Olive Winters and Redalia Eagle.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213, Hwy #3, Lunenburg. A public graveside service will be held on Monday, March 6, 2017, at 11:00 am in Feltzen South Cemetery, Feltzen South, Rev. Heather Ferrier officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to the Kidney Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia would be appreciated by the family.
