It is with deep sadness that the family of Claire Margaret Hall, 91, of Lunenburg announces her passing on Wednesday March 8, 2017, at Harbour View Haven Home for Special Care, Lunenburg.

Born in San Diego, California, she was the daughter of Ralph and Aileen (Dunlop) Chambers. Claire always considered Yarmouth, where she grew up and met George, as home.

Claire spent her working career with Canada Post in the Town of Lunenburg where she made many friends. Besides raising her family, which was her main job in life, she loved to spend her time gardening, sewing and knitting wool sweaters for her family. She was also a past member of the “Brittle Bones” skating club; the Thursday night knitting club, and enjoyed the freedom of taking drives around the county. Claire also had a love of all animals; however she was particularly fond of her and Kathy’s pug, “Millie”.

Claire is survived by her daughter, Kathryn (Gordon) Moreau; Riverport, son, Gregory (Madonna); Bayport, as well as grandchildren, Bradley, Jeffrey, Joel, Sarah, Matthew, Katie and eight great-grandchildren and daughter- in- law Jane (Parks) Hall of Lunenburg.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband George, son, Wayne and sister, Marion Smith.

Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213, Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg. As per Claire’s wishes, a private family interment will take place at a later date in Hillcrest Cemetery, Lunenburg.

Memorial donations made to the SHAID Tree Animal Shelter or the Lunenburg Fire Department would be appreciated by the family.
