It is with great sadness that the family of Lois Merlene Lohnes, 86, of Lunenburg, announces her passing on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Harbour View Haven Home For Special Care, Lunenburg.

Born in Feltzen South, she was a daughter of the late Wallace and Amy (Mosher) Corkum. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

During her working career, Lois worked alongside her husband Donald, operating Lohnes Appliances and Service in Lunenburg for many years. She was a long time member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lunenburg and a member of the Alexandra Rebekah’s, Lodge #22, Lunenburg, as well as a member of the local “TOPS”.

Lois will be greatly missed by her daughter, Susan (Greg) Greek, Lunenburg; son, David, Liverpool and her grandsons, Alex and Ian, of whom she was quite proud and step-sister, Joan Pattison, Ottawa. She will also be missed by her faithfull and lifelong friend, Rosabelle Mosher.

Besides her parents she is predeceased by her husband Donald, step-mother Edna (Kaulbach) Corkum, step-sisters, Marie Bezanson and Donita Card.

Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213, Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg. A memorial service for Lois will be held on Wednesday April 19 at 2:00 p.m. from Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lunenburg. Rev. Richard Pryce officiating. Interment to follow at Hillcrest cemetery, Lunenburg.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lunenburg or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
