Obituary for Glenda Marion Morash

Glenda Marion Morash
It is with great sadness that the family of Glenda Marion Morash, 73, of Lunenburg, announces her passing on Friday, April 28, 2017 at the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.

Born in Bridgewater, Glenda was the daughter of Velma Crabb (Smith nee Croft) of Saint John, NB and the late Clyde Smith.

Glenda was a Lifetime member of Zion Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school for 22 years, sang in the church choir since she was a teenager, served as Church Cradle Roll Secretary for 31 years and was a member of the Zion Fellowship Committee.

Always a great lover of music, Glenda was a member of the Lunenburg Chorale under the direction of Diane Oxner-MacDonald and also Nina Scott-Stoddard where she served as secretary for 10 years.

Glenda resided in Lunenburg her entire life, where she proudly served her community as a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Lunenburg Fire Department, volunteered as a gift- shop attendant at the Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital and was a former member of the Lunenburg Academy Foundation.

Glenda attended the historic Lunenburg Academy from grade primary to grade 12 and worked for many years as a receptionist at the offices of Drs. Cantelope, Patterson, Morse and Kelly in Lunenburg until her retirement. In her spare time, she could always be found at home working on crafts.

She enjoyed a very active life but always found time to meet with her group of “Club Girls”, 10 gals, bimonthly since early in her marriage. Friends and family were most important to Glenda and she cherished times spent with loved ones, camping or at their summer home in Indian Path for over 20 years.

Besides her mother, Velma Crabb, Glenda is survived by her husband, Capt. Wilson Arthur Morash; daughters, Jill Louise (Donald) Mills, Schnares Crossing; Carla Jane (Blair) Mansfield, Garden Lots; son, Larry Christopher (Nicole) Morash, Riverport; granddaughters, Christie (Adam) Mills, Darcie (Corey) Mills-Smith, Rachael Mansfield (Jordan); grandsons, Matthew Mansfield, Christopher Mills, Broghan Morash, Landen Morash; great-grandsons, Brody Craft, Emmett Smith, and sister, Cynthia (David) Wentzell, Sunnybrook.

She was predeceased by her father, Clyde Smith and her step-father, Jack Crabb.

A service to celebrate Glenda’s life will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Lunenburg, Rev. Rick Pryce and Rev. Willis Ott, officiating. Interment will be in Upper Blue Rocks Cemetery, Blue Rocks.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Zion Lutheran Church the Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital or to Canadian Fabry Association, through the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, Lunenburg.
