Condolence From: Vivian Moores
Condolence: To Ann and all the family:
I was deeply saddened to learn today of Sam's passing. I am sorry that I did not know earlier or I would have been with you at the cemetery and the gathering afterward.
Sam was one of those people who always let his light shine. His smile was warm and his spirit gentle. He had a compassion and love for others that was generous.
I first met Sam when he operated the General Store in Rose Bay. My boys were very young at the time and they always looked forward to our "walk to Sam's".
Personally, I always loved our conversations about faith and God. Though he was Muslin and I, Christian, we had a bond and respect for one another. God was our common ground.
Sam and Ann helped bridge the gap of language when our community in Petite Riviere welcomed two Syrian families to the area. I will never forget our trip to Subway in Halifax after leaving the airport. "Eating at the table at Subway" was a time of special sharing!
I thank God for the blessing of Sam as my good friend along life's journey. Shalom my friend. God's peace.

Condolence: To the Hammond family
Sam's spirit will be remembered for ever. When I moved to Riverport, he was the first smiley face I met. He always had something smart to say, and made me feel very welcome. Thank God for Hammonds family store, the amount of milk and bread I had to drag out of there to keep the family going. Because of Sam and his family, I was only glad to keep going back. Thanks for that! Sorry for your loss.
