I am sorry for your loss. I appreciated his warmth of spirit and sense of humour. He seemed always to have a twinkle in his eye and was glad to see you. As a teen, I remember him talking about the process of becoming a concert pianist and becoming a master of the piano and taking charge of it. He certainly embodied that, and it left an impression on me and inspired me in my own musical pursuits. I admired his musical abilities and the enthusiasm, warmth and vigour with which he shared them. I'm sure Jim is using his musical talents right now!
