Obituary for William Charles "Bill" Dauphinee

WILLIAM “BILL” CHARLES DAUPHINEE Lunenburg Businessman

It is with great sadness that the family of William “Bill” Charles Dauphinee, 87, of Lunenburg, announces his passing, on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at the South Shore Reginald Hospital, Bridgewater.

He was the son of the late Frederick and Viola (Bannister) Dauphinee.

Bill spent most of his working career in sales and loved every minute of it. He was employed by C.D. Ritcey and Sons Furniture in Lunenburg then opened his own office to finish his 65 years serving the public with Tingley/Nelson Monuments. His annual Christmas tree lot was very popular.

He had a unique energy, passion and work ethic that made him very successful in whatever he undertook.

Bill loved sports and played ball and hockey in his younger years. He was an MVP and was known for his speed patrolling centre field.

Everyone seemed to know Bill as he was quick to chat with all. Many of his favorite times were the simple moments in life, having a "yarn", dining with family, annual trips to Caledonia and other exhibitions, going for a drive in the truck for a chocolate ice cream and spending time at his beloved "camp". Bill had a great sense of humour and enjoyed dressing up on Halloween and playing Santa Claus for grandchildren. He loved nature and particularly enjoyed dogs, carrying treats for new furry friends wherever he went.
Bill will be remembered as being very loyal and quick to respond to those in need. He faced his many challenges head on and always had a positive never give up attitude.

Active within his community, he was a member of St. John’s Anglican Church, Lunenburg, and a member of the Lunenburg Fire Department, and spearheaded many key fundraising initiatives.

Bill was very supportive, proud and loving of his family.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene “Daryl”, son, Tim (Shelley), Halifax; daughters, Annette (Roy) Dauphinee -Tree, New Glasgow; Marilyn (Eric) Dauphine-Allen, New Minas; grandchildren, Jacquie, Jeri-Lee, Cheri, Craig, Terry, Matthew; great-grandchildren, Justin, Keenan, Daniel, Riley, Zachary, Dawsyn, Hayden; sister, Virginia Hebb, Halifax, sisters-in-law, Deanna Dauphinee, Lunenburg; Madge Walker, New Ross; Eleanor White, Amherst and several nieces and nephews.
