Obituary for Beatrice Pauline Rhind (Lohnes)

It is with sadness that the family of Beatrice Pauline Rhind, 93, of Lunenburg announces her passing on Saturday, July 15, 2017, at Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg.

Born in Lunenburg, she was a daughter of the late Bernard and Selena (Tanner) Lohnes.

Beatrice was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Lunenburg, where she was a member of the choir for many years. She was also a member of the “Singing Sisters” in years past. In her younger years she worked as a hairdresser, however her time was spent as a homemaker looking after her family. Beatrice enjoyed travelling the province with her husband Bob, in their camper, where they attended as many Exhibitions as possible. She was a quiet, kind and loving woman who had a tender spot for animals, particularly little dog “Buffy”.

Beatrice is survived by her sister, Barbara (William) Risser, Lunenburg, as well as several nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by very close friend Mary Lou Croft of Blockhouse.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Robert (Bob), sisters, Margaret Leroux, Joan McCluskey and brothers, Rayburn, Murray and Freddie.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213, Hwy #3, Lunenburg and from where a memorial service for Beatrice will be held on Thursday, July 20, at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Lunenburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
