Obituary for Rhea Evelyn Dorothy Creaser

Rhea Evelyn Dorothy  Creaser
It is with great sadness that the family of Rhea Evelyn Dorothy Creaser, 93, of Lunenburg announces her passing on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at Harbour View Haven Home for Special Care, Lunenburg.

Born in Lunenburg, she was a daughter of the late Obediah and Florence (Tanner) Conrad.

Rhea’s working career within the Town of Lunenburg began with Simpson’s, followed by 20 years with Bluenose Motors, then Lunenburg Motors, Zwicker & Company and later with Famous Town Ladies Wear.

She was a faithful member of St. John’s Anglican Church, Lunenburg where she was a choir member for 55 years and taught Sunday school for many years.

Rhea was Past President of Anglican Youth Peoples Association Social Club and was a member of the Ladies Aid, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 23, Lunenburg which she joined in June, 1946; the Bluenose Seniors Club, Lunenburg; the Golden Youth Club, Dayspring; the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg; and was Past Nobel Grand of Alexandra Rebekah Lodge #22, Lunenburg.

Rhea is survived by her step-daughter, Gail (Mark) Laing, Halifax; step-sons, Blake (Sandra) Creaser, Wentzell’s Lake; Carter (Pamela) Creaser, Coldbrook; Glen Creaser, Aylesford; grandchildren, Kimberley, Kathryn, Jenna, Sarah, Melaney, Naaman, Sian, Kiri, Adrien, Taylor, Joshua; great-grandchildren, Bailey, Sebastian, Robyn, Jasper and Findley, special nieces, Lillian (Howard) Keeping, Lunenburg, Karen Brown (Richard), Burlington, ON, nephew, Kevin Allen, Ottawa and several other nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Robert Allister Johnston; second husband, Albert Leon Creaser and brother, Bernard, half-brother, Melvin Allan and half-sister, Grace Cluett.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy. #3 Lunenburg, where a service to celebrate Rhea's life will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Alvin Westgate, officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Lunenburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. John’s Anglican Church, Lunenburg or the Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg.
