Obituary for Aubrey Harris Berringer

Aubrey Harris Berringer, 97, of Northwest, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.

Born in Big Lots, on January 25, 1920, he was the son of the late Harris and Lee (Dauphinee) Berringer.
He was a lifelong member of Northwest United Baptist Church where he served as deacon, Sunday school superintendent and choir member. While managing the family farm, he was also employed as a sawyer and mill worker at the Olin Spidle saw mill and box factory.

Aubrey possessed a deep love and respect for people which moved him to serve his community by volunteering at the Bridgewater Food Bank, Harbour View Haven and LaHave Manor. All those who came in contact with him were touched by his lively sense of humor and compassion. His patient, kind and generous nature will be missed by all.

Aubrey is survived by his wife of 70 years the former Myrtis (Poole); son, Murray (Donna), Lower Sackville; daughter, Brenda (Randy) Crozsman, New Minas; grandchildren, Heather Berringer, Jennifer Berringer, Carrie Rand, Craig Heisler; great-grandchildren, Llewyn and Sullivan Rand, brother-in-law, Sheldon Poole (Paula), niece, Frances Ernst and nephew, Steven Poole.

He was predeceased by his sister, Agnes Spidell.

Friends are invited to share their memories of Aubrey with his family during visitation on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 from 7-9 pm at the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy #3 Lunenburg. Funeral Service to celebrate Aubrey’s life will be held 1:00 pm on Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at Northwest United Baptist Church, Northwest, Rev. Richard Moore officiating. Interment will be in the Northwest Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Northwest United Baptist Church or a charity of choice.
