Condolences

Condolence From: Jerome Bruhm
Condolence: I was saddened to hear this news about Eddie and Iris. I knew both of them very well in the days when I was setting up Run Nova Scotia in the early 1980. They were both so very supportive and helpful, always in a very positive way. I may have lost contact with them over the years but I never forgot what wonderful people they were.

Condolence: I worked with your father at Parks Canada for many years. Always smiling and a most wonderful person and gentleman, and always so interesting to talk to. I knew your mother also, a lovely lady in every sense of the word. I also saw them performing in plays, both were fabulous and so passionate about acting. They are both together now. Thinking of you and your family at this very sad and difficult time. My condolences, Marge Boutilier

Condolence: Eddie was a wonderful man, always both interesting and interested, just a delight to talk with. I met him through Iris’ participation in the St John’s Bell Choir, but my late husband Richard, a curator at the NS Museum, also knew him and greatly appreciated his knowledge, experience and kindness.

Condolence: After sixty one years of marriage, it’s nice to think that even death couldn’t separate this wonderful loving couple. It’s been quite a while since Iris and Eddie were seen ‘treading the boards’ at Bedford Players, but many of us still remember then as if it was just yesterday. A very memorable couple, both on and off the stage. Rest In Peace Iris and Eddie. Condolences go to Michael and his family. Sandy and Bill

Condolence: My heartfelt sympathy on hearing about the death of both your parents. I worked for many years with Ed at Parks Canada and enjoyed many wonderful talks with him over the years. I fondly remember the times when I worked closely with Mr. Kendall on the Halifax Marathon committee back in the 70's and saw Eddie and Iris at the start and finish of many many road races. He loved racing and we loved seeing him cross that finish line. Your family was such an inspiration on me at the time and your dad always amazed me with his race times for his age category. He could outrun all the young ones at the time. I often ran into your parents over the years after retirement and they always beamed with humour and excitement. He had such a passion for his work at Parks Canada as well. My sincere sympathy to all the family during this difficult time.

Condolence: Dear Michael and family: Three of us were recruited to Parks Canada, Conservation Division , in Ottawa in 1976: Ian Cross, me and Eddie. He was such a lovely and gifted fellow. He quickly found his way to the Maritimes where he and Iris seem to have prospered all the way into retirement. So grateful to have known them both. So sorry for your loss.
