It is with great sadness that the family of Manning Walter Butts,70, of Fauxburg, announces his passing on Monday, January 29, 2018 at the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.

Born in Upper North Sydney, he was the son of the late John Levi and Mabel (Garrow) Butts.

In his free time, Manning enjoyed fishing, hunting, panning for gold and being with family and friends. He was a strong and hardworking man who spent his working years aboard many a vessel out fishing at sea. In 1977, he earned his certificate of competency as fishing master.

Manning was kind hearted and would talk with anyone who would lend an ear. He made friends wherever he went, leaving lasting impressions on all those who had the pleasure of meeting him.

He is survived by his loving wife Linda; daughters, Emily, Lorrie and Theresa; sons, Jody and Manning; sisters, Laura Hirtle, Linda Williams, Sharon Saunders and Cindy Butts; brother, Daryl; and his many grand and great grandchildren.

Besides his parents he was predeceased by his son, John Levi.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy #3, Lunenburg and from where a memorial service will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Alvin Westgate officiating.
