Obituary for Georgie Louise Hingley

It is with great sadness that the family of Georgie Louise Hingley, 87, of Riverport announces her passing on Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg.

Born in Old Barns, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Hilda (Worth) Geddes.

She was a faithful member of Trinity United Church, Rose Bay.

Georgie was a member of the Ladies’ Auxiliary of The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #23, Lunenburg and the New Germany New Horizons Seniors’ Club, where she could always enjoy a good game of cards or Bingo with her many friends.

She was always happiest when she could get family together at her home eating her famous biscuits, delicious dinners and homemade pies. She enjoyed her many plants and had large gardens in her younger years.

She is survived by her best friend, Donald Weagle; daughters, Linda (Everett) Oickle, East LaHave; Holly Mossman, New Ross; son, Robert (Tina), Riverport; 8 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; sisters, Greta Dillman, Porter's Lake; Hilda C. Higney, Wilkie’s Cove Rd.; Gwendolyn Geddes, Day Spring; brother, Dexter, Hamilton, ON; many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Georgie was predeceased by her husband, Theodore (Ted); son-in-law, Ted Mossman; sisters, Marjorie Loughhead and twin infant sisters; brothers, Bernard, Graham, Tedford, Clarence and Charles.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213, Hwy #3, Lunenburg where visitation will be held on Friday from 7-9 p.m. A funeral service celebrating Georgie’s life will follow on Saturday at 2:00 p.m from Trinity United Church, Rose Bay, Rev. Ron Frampton officiating. Interment to follow in Shepherd’s Hill Cemetery, Riverport
