Obituary for Gilbert "Gibby" Artemus Mosher

It is with deep sadness that the family of Gilbert Artemus Mosher, 83, of Bayport, announce his passing on Friday, February 23, 2018 at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.

Born in Bayport, he was the son of the late Aubury and Helen (Cook) Mosher.

In his earlier years Gilbert started his working life with Adams and Knickle of Lunenburg, later he went on to go to sea, scallop fishing and herring seining. Later, he went ashore and went inshore fishing for twenty-one years.

Gilbert enjoyed his family and spending time with them. He enjoyed his grandchildren and took an active interest in their activities. Gilbert will truly be missed by his family.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn, of 61 years; daughter, Donna (John) Phillips, Dartmouth; son, Anthony (AnnMarie) Mosher, Riverport; grandchildren, Jillian Phillips, Bailey and Aaron Mosher; sister, Joanne (Harry) Creaser, Riverport; sister– in law, Barbara Mosher, Moncton, NB., as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother–law, Eugene Mosher.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213, Hwy #3, Lunenburg, and from where a memorial service to celebrate Gilbert’s life will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Willis Ott officiating. Interment to follow in Bayport Cemetery, Bayport.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, Riverport Fire Department, South Shore Regional Hospital, or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
