Obituary for Cassandra Lynn Gear

Cassandra Lynn Gear
It is with immense sadness that the family of Cassandra Lynn Gear, 34, of Halifax, announces her sudden passing on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at the Q.E. II, Health Sciences Centre, Halifax.

Born in Lunenburg, Cassandra was the daughter of Gregory and Pamela (Joudrey) Gear of Bridgewater.

Cassandra received her early education at Centre Consolidated and Park View Education Centre in Bridgewater. Cassandra attended Saint Mary’s University before making a move and continuing her life in Red Deer, Alberta where she lived for 7 years. Cassandra returned home to Nova Scotia in 2009.

Cassandra had a true passion for life. She was a strong, vibrant, independent woman. Her love for people, friends and family gave her true happiness. Her charming personality, wit, and beautiful smile lit up any room. In Cassandra’s early life she was an avid sports player. Curling was her great passion where she succeeded for many years. She enjoyed fashion, travelling, visiting beaches, reading and singing to country music. Cassandra was a true animal lover, owning many pets over the years. Cassandra’s deepest loves were her three beautiful children. They were truly her heart and soul.

Besides her parents, Gregory and Pamela Gear, Cassandra is survived by her three beloved children, Marissa, Cashius and Arielle; her beloved brother, Daniel, Halifax; maternal grandmother, Rosalie Joudrey, Mahone Bay; long time friend Rick Masters, Bedford.

She was predeceased by her maternal grandfather Phillip Joudrey, as well as paternal grandparents Gordon and Shirley (Daniels) Gear; uncles, Tommy and Kirk Joudrey.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy #3, Lunenburg, where a memorial service for family and close friends to celebrate Cassandra’s life will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 14, 2018, Rev. Father Chad McCharles, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to an Educational Fund for Cassandra’s children.
