It is with great sadness that the family of Bruce Warren Hubley, 85, of Bridgewater, and formerly of Port Medway, announces his passing on Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.

Born in Port Medway, he was a son of the late Stanley and Etta (Wentzell) Hubley.

Bruce spent his working life both at sea and on the Great Lakes. He spent five years as an engineer with the Canadian Coast Guard, then moved to Thunder Bay, ON, where he spent the rest of his career with several ships on the Great Lakes, also as ships engineer. After his retirement Bruce returned to Windsor and then to Bridgewater.

Bruce is survived by his sister, Genesta, Massachusetts; brothers, Woodrow (Carol), Dartmouth, Keith (Virginia), Lower Sackville; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. from the Port Medway United Baptist Church, 40 Long Cove Road, Port Medway. Rev. Terry Brewer officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society (Run For the Cure) or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia would be appreciated by the family.
