Obituary for Alec William Charles Gingell

It is with great sadness that the family of Alec William Charles Gingell, 83, announces his passing, on Monday, July 16, 2018, at his home in Rhodes Corner.

Born in the New Forest area of Southern England, he was a son of the late Charles and Mona ( King) Gingell.

He joined His Majesty’s Royal Navy in 1950, enjoying several years as a serving Submariner before moving on to a civilian world of sales and commerce in which he travelled extensively, making new friends everywhere he went. His emigration to Canada in 1972 marked the beginning of a new phase of life which included more travel, sailing, kayaking, ‘gentleman farming’, beekeeping and in retirement he filled his time with painting and volunteer work.

He was a man of integrity and a loving husband. He will be greatly missed.

Alec is survived by his wife Wendy; sons, David (Sandy), Stephen (Donna);
Grandchildren, Louis, Frances, Dane, Rebecca, Kathryn; sisters, Pat Barge, Sue (Gerry) Nixon, all of the UK.

Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy # 3, Lunenburg, and from where a memorial service to celebrate Alec’s life will be held on Tuesday July 31, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Gary Carey officiating. Interment will be at a later date.
