Obituary for Kendall John Black

It is with great sadness that the family of Kendall John Black, 59, of Lunenburg, announces his passing on August 3, 2018 at home in the arms of his beloved wife, Bobbie.

Born in Lunenburg he was the son of Ethel (Arenburg) Black of Lunenburg and the late John Black.

Kendall has worked at Greek’s Esso Service Station in Lunenburg for over 28 years and for the last 12 years with Wilson’s Fuels as manager.

Active within his community, Kendall was an Honorary and former Deputy Chief of the Lunenburg Fire Department and supported the Fire Department in any way he could.

An avid sportsman, in his earlier years he coached Minor Hockey, played Baseball and hockey. In later years was a member of Mars, the Lunenburg Curling Club and a casual golfer at the Bluenose Golf Club.

Never an idle moment with Kendall and in his spare time he mowed lawns and did property management for a number of homes in the area.

Besides his mother, Kendall is survived by his wife, Babette “Bobbie”; daughters, Brittany Black, Edmonton Alberta; and Micayla (Levi) Spidle, Silver Point Road; sisters, Heather (Oran) Hyson, Lunenburg; Carolyn Forysth, Cold Lake Alberta; Linda (Donnie) Cail, Bible Hill; grandchildren, Kendall, Trey and Aria, mother in law, Valreta Langille (Lloyd Conrad), Clearland; several special nieces and nephews.

Kendall was predeceased by his father, John; daughter, Jannelle; brother-in-law, Doug Forysth; father in law, Robert Langille

Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg with visitation on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. A service to Celebrate Kendall’s life will be held 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday August 7th at St. John’s Anglican Church, Lunenburg, Rev. Alvin Westgate, officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Lunenburg.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Lunenburg Fire Department or to St. John’s Anglican Church, Lunenburg.
