It is with great sadness that we the family of Stuart Alan Blumenthal, age 81 of Lunenburg announce his passing on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Harbour View Haven Nursing Home in Lunenburg.

Born in Halifax, Stuart was the son of the late Phillip and Ida (Smith) Blumenthal.

For many years, Stuart was the owner of Scotia Stamp Studio in Halifax. He was a philanthropist who enjoyed giving back to his community by working with The Stamp Club.

Stuart leaves behind his wife, Linda (Baylis) Blumenthal; children, Adrienne and Michael, Kelly (Patrick) Baylis-Smith; granddaughter Norah Lynn of Middle Sackville; brothers, Jerry (Nancy) and Robert (Beverly) of Halifax. Predeceased by his first wife, Anita.

There will be a Graveside Committal Service at Hillcrest Cemetery in Lunenburg (today) Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. Shiva will be observed at the home of Adrienne Blumenthal, 9 Kimberley Cres. Dartmouth from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Big Brothers and Big Sisters, through the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, Lunenburg.
