Eva Beatrice Oickle
It is with great sadness that the family of Eva Beatrice Oickle, 90, of Ryan Hall, Bridgewater, formerly of Blockhouse, announce her passing on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.
Born in Blockhouse, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Gladys (Demone) Eichel.
Eva’s family was the most important part of her life and home a special place where she loved to cook and bake. Within the community and surrounding area a variety of people were blessed to benefit from her talent as a great seamstress. This energetic lady was active and lived life to the fullest until her passing. She was a member of St. James Anglican Church, Mahone Bay.
Eva is survived by daughter, Carla (Ross) Pentz, Bridgewater; son, David (Anne) Oickle, Labelle; sisters, Susan Wagner, Mahone Bay; Dorothy Veinotte , Blockhouse; and Gloria Joudrey, Mahone Bay; grandchildren, Trina (Paul) Oickle-Pottie and Deanne Oickle (Kevin Conrad); great-grandchildren, Hannah and Mariah Kelley; step-grandson, Jorel Pentz; step-great-grandchildren, Jessica and Ben Pottie.
She is predeceased by husband, Charles.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy #3, Lunenburg. A service to celebrate Eva’s life will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at St. James Anglican Church, Mahone Bay, Rev. Ian Wissler officiating.Interment at Whynott’s Settlement Cemetery, Whynott’s Settlement.
Reception to follow at 1:00 p.m. at Ryan Hall, 313 Hollingsworth Dr., Bridgewater.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Ryan Hall Recreation Fund or a charity of your choice.
