It is with great sadness that the family of Derald Charles Zwicker, 82, of Lunenburg and formerly of Whynott’s Settlement, announces his passing on Monday, June 29, 2015 at Harbour View Haven Home for Special Care, Lunenburg.

Born in Gold River, he was a son of the late Charles and Hazel (Keizer) Zwicker.

Derald worked the majority of his working life with National Sea Products, Lunenburg. He was a quiet, determined man who had a love of boats, spending time outdoors and by the saltwater. He loved watching hockey and visiting family and friends.

Derald is survived by his daughter, Elaine Frank (Andrew Veinotte), Clearland, son, Darren Zwicker (Maria Chau), Edmonton; grandchildren, Cody (Leslie Himmelman) Nicholas (Mary), sisters, Joan (Fred) Robar, Whynott's Settlement; Vangie Bolivar, Bridgewater; Margie Whynott, Mader's Cove; brothers, Clarence (Margie) Zwicker, Cornwall; Donald (Cecilia) Zwicker, Yarmouth, many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brothers Paul, Mervin and Joe.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213, Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg where a gathering for family and friends to celebrate Derald’s life will be held on Friday, July 3, 2015, from 2-4 pm. Interment will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Dory Racing Association.
