Obituary for
Luella Virginia Parks
It is with great sadness that we the family of Luella Virginia Parks, 86 of Lilydale, announce her passing on Sunday, December 27, 2015 at the Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg.
Born in Clearland, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Mae (Langille) Dorey. After the passing of her Mother she was brought up by Mr. and Mrs. Freeman Tanner of Heckman's Island.
Luella enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, such as spending time out doors in nature, feeding the deer, the birds and picking berries. She was fond of her cats and often took long walks to the store to buy them treats. Knitting was her favorite pastime and she received great pleasure giving these goods to others. Most of all Luella enjoyed spending time with family.
Luella is survived by her daughter, Susan Parks, Quebec City; sons, Andrew, Lilydale; Paul (Theresa) Parks, Halifax; grandson, Corey (Amanda) Mosher and two great grandchildren, Nicole and Julia.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Glen; daughter, Patricia Ann Mosher; sisters, Mildred, Clara and Lillian; brothers, Russell, Clifford, Franklyn, Robert (Mickey).
Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral home, 11213 Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg, where a service to celebrate Luella’s life will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. John Meekin, officiating. Private Interment will be in Creek Hill Cemetery, East LaHave.
Of all the gifts that life has to offer,
a loving Mother is the greatest of them all.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to any charity.
