Obituary for Ida Belle Anderson

Ida Belle Anderson
It is with great sadness that the family of Ida Belle Anderson, 84, of Lunenburg, announces her passing on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 with her loved ones by her side, at the QE 11, Health Sciences Centre, Infirmary Site, Halifax.

Born in Hermitage Newfoundland, she was a daughter of the late Aquilla and Dessima (Rose) Francis.

Ida was a strong individual as indicated by her leaving her out port home in 1964 with three small children to move to her new home in Lunenburg to join her husband Hubert.
She took great joy in teaching her many skills to her children and grandchildren. Ida was proud of her work and that of her children. She loved her church of St. John’s Anglican and had a tremendous belief.

We have all been blessed to have known such a great lady and she has left the world a better place.

Ida is survived by her loving husband Hubert, daughters Selina ( David) Hansen; Heckman’s Island, Cathy (James) Johnston; Lunenburg, son, Ralph Anderson; Back Centre, and her sister Mary Fiander; Ramea, NL, grandchildren, Beth (Sheldon) Gillis, Jyll (Sean) VanLeeuwen, Heidi (Richard) Tanner, Holly (Todd) Whynot, Laura (Joel) Selig, Kyle Johnston, 7 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Ida was predeceased by her sister, Juanita, brothers, Roland, Freeman and Oliver.

Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213, Hwy. # 3. Lunenburg. No visitation by request. Funeral service to celebrate Ida’s life will be held on Friday at 2:00 p.m. at St. John’s Anglican Church, Lunenburg, Rev. Alvin Westgate officiating, assisted by Rev. Reginald MacDonald. Interment in Hillcrest Cemetery, Lunenburg.
