Obituary for Eugene George Rogers

Eugene  George  Rogers
Rogers, Eugene George – 77, Kentville, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2016, at the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville.

Born in Berwick, he was a son of the late George and Geraldine (Legge) Rogers. Eugene was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Habitant Branch No. 73, Canning. In his younger years he worked for V.C. Woodworth Construction, Kentville; Bell and Howell, Ontario; Atlantic Ship Building, Lunenburg and Acadia Construction, Lunenburg and Port Williams Agency. His passions were fishing and the Kingsport Jammers Music.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Andrea (Palmeter); daughter, Christine Corkum, Western Shore; sons, Jamie (Margaret), Lunenburg; Wendell (Wendy Naugler), Camperdown; sisters, Shirley Barkhouse, Kentville; Rosaline Rogers, Gibson, BC; grandchildren, Jennifer, Katherene, Katelyn, Megan, Kenneth and Madison; four great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by sister, Sheila Spinney; brother, Wayne Rogers.

There will be no visitation, by request. The funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2016 in the Emmanuel United Church, Kingsport, Kings County, Reverend Michael Veenema officiating. Burial will take place at a later date. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
