Linda, Michael and Matthew,
We only learned of Gary's passing a few ours before the service. Bad news has never had good timing. Needless to say our thoughts immediately turned to the three of you, and the great loss you face.
We feel very fortunate to have had the Parks family as our family's first neighbors. From meeting Sasha on our first day of Holder Rd., to seeing the three of you today at the service, Gary was fortunate to have created, enjoyed, and left behind such a beautiful family.
It seemed to me that Gary approached everything with a thoughtful, knowledgable, and above all else, patient, mind and heart. I was always envious of him for these attributes. I recall, boat problems, pump problems, electrical problems that Gary solved for me. My frustrated, impatient, foul-mouthed, time consuming, problem solving efforts, were put to rest on many occasion by Gary...after a few carefully observed minutes/seconds. He had a great ability to reduce complex things to the simplest form and deal with them efficiently. I will always look back on our years on Holder with great fondness, and Parks Family will always be a bid part of those memories.
