Many years ago on one of the few times meeting Dorothy face to face and knowing her as my new step Grandma she gifted me with one of her hand made quilts.  I treasured that quilt in all it's shades of pink and other light colours. If memory serves me right, Wendy(my then step-mom) was able to pick out a few patterns of fabric in that quilt and tell me about the item of clothing it had come from when she was little.  In time and after many km's traveled(I packed it to go with me for any sleepovers) years of washing and cuddling it eventually started falling apart beyond the repairs that I had been patching up and I had to let it go.  I've never had another blanket like it.  The quilt was like her, it was warm and comforting.  I know my sister Kathleen and her children are going to truely miss their Nanny/Grammy.
