It is with sadness that the family of Sherman Henry Whynot, 82, of First South, announces his passing on Sunday, September 25, 2016, at the Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg.

Born in Liverpool, he was a son of the late Lester and Violet (Conrad) Whynot.

Sherman spent much of his working life with Bowater Mersey, Liverpool and later was a swordfish and lobster fisherman and worked as an auto body mechanic.

Sherman is survived by his companion, Carolyn Knickle; daughters, Peggy (Randy) Legge, East Dalhousie; Janet (Greg) Gatzke, Port Mouton; sons, Robert (Gail) Whynot, Milton; Kevin (Patty) Whynot, Middlefield, 11 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren 5 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grand child, sister, Shirley (Peter) Pierce, Alberta, brother, Lester (Jr.) (Fern) Whynot, Liverpool,

Besides his parents, Sherman was predeceased by his wife, Suellen,sister, Maxine Wentzell, brother, Lorraine.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213, Hwy #3, Lunenburg. A graveside committal service will be held 11: 00 a.m. Thursday, October 6, 2016 in the Milton Cemetery, Milton, Rev. Robert Zinck, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Sherman’s memory may be made to a Food Bank or Animal Shelter of your choice.
