Obituary for Ricky Joseph Johnson

It is with profound and compounded sadness that the family of Ricky Joseph Johnson, 63, of Lunenburg, announces his passing on January 2, 2017, at the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater, just one day following the death of his mother-in-law, Geraldine Margaret Hannams.

Born in Lunenburg, he was a son of the late Augustus and Mary (Tanner) Johnson.

Ricky was a fisherman all his life, working for Adams and Knickle, Clearwater and Scotia Trawler and for the last 15 years, OCI Riverport.

An avid outdoorsman, Ricky’s favourite times were spent outside with friends and family, especially when it involved trout fishing.

Ricky is survived by his wife, Corinne; daughters, Stacey (Neil Dorey), First South; Erin (Kerry) Emino, Blockhouse; son, Chad, Lunenburg; brother, Gary (Diane), Lunenburg; sister, Carolyn (Terry) Lohnes, Garden Lots; grandchildren, Hunter, Keeghan, Amera, and Kennedy and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213, Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg. At Ricky’s request there will be no memorial service and interment will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Ricky’s memory may be made to the QE II Foundation- Liverpool Dialysis Patient Donation Fund or to the QEII Foundation – Dialysis Unit C/0, QEII Foundation, 5657 Spring Garden Rd., Suite 3005,Halifax, N.S. B3J 3R4
