Obituary for Sidney Clarence Heisler

Sidney Clarence Heisler, 94 of Deans Corner, passed away, Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.

Born in Lunenburg, he was the son of the late Charles and Elsie (Lowe) Heisler.

Sidney was brought up by his grandmother in First Peninsula, who was housekeeper for Charles Zemke of First Peninsula.

He started his working life at sea and then went to work at the Lunenburg Foundry and Engineering until his retirement.

Sidney enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and was an avid outdoorsman and found great pleasures sailing the waters of the area on his boat and in the wintertime iceboating with friends on the back harbour of Lunenburg. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Lunenburg.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Violet in 1990.

Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy. #3, Lunenburg, where a funeral service to celebrate Sidney’s life will be held Sunday at 3:30 p.m. Rev. Rick Pryce, officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Lunenburg.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or to any other charity.
