Obituary for Regina May Rhuland

Regina May Rhuland
It is with great sadness that the family of Regina May Rhuland, 77, of Rhodes Corner announces her passing, on Friday, September 7, 2018 at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.

Born in Milton, N.S. on October 26, 1940, she was the daughter of the late James Muise and Eva Hatt.

Regina worked caring for the elderly at Pleasant Rest Home for 10 years and the Nova Scotia Health Care for 15 years.

After retirement, she enjoyed camping with her husband and dog, Sammy. She loved knitting slippers and just being with all her grandchildren and her friends brought her much comfort. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and actively supporting the work of the church.

Mom was a wonderful loving and caring person and would do anything for anyone. God was her strength and Savior all of her life. In the end with her battles with cancer, he was her peace.

She is survived by her loving husband, Terry, Rhodes Corner, daughters, Kim (Allen) Laing Whynot, Danesville; Joanne Laing, Lunenburg, sisters, Bonnie (Ronald) Hatt, Maxine Whynot, both of Danesville; Donna (Phillip) Conrad, Dayspring; grandsons, Gary (Amanda) Whynot, Danesville; Daniel (Alyssa) Whynot, Manitoba; Travis (Kelsey) Laing, Halifax; great-grandchildren, Silas and Sullivan, Manitoba; Alexis and Abby, Danesville; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by sons, Gary, James Laing Jr. and step-father, Charles Hatt, brother-in-law, Wilson Whynot and her mother and father in-law, Marion and Gilbert Rhuland.

Friends are invited to share their memories of Regina with her family during visitation at the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 1112, Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service to celebrate Regina’s life will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Lunenburg, Rev. Rick Pryce officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Lunenburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cancer Society, Zion Lutheran Church, SHAID Tree Animal Shelter or a charity of your choice.
