I was in the graduating class of the Coast Guard College in 76N, in no small part due to the kind words and actions of Capt. Plant. Several times I was sent to see the Director because of my transgressions at the College. He was a great mentor and a calming influence for me. He was always hopeful and supportive of my efforts. On graduation day he took me aside and shared with me some very profound words about leadership that I have held dear to this day. Those words have been a guiding principle for many of my command decisions. Thank you for the time and wisdom that you shared with me. Prayers and blessings to you and your family.
